Lavender Tears…

Deep in the night,
I lay sleepless for you…

And as the day drones on,
I won’t forget you….

But I don’t dare name you aloud!
I listen to the same old song,
I sip a cup of tea,
and I cry.

Cry lavender tears for you!
Dream lavender fields of you!
And I don’t name you aloud–

No I don’t name you aloud!

Chopin’s piano weeps your name,
and I dream dreams of fair and far
Miletus for you.

But I can’t name you aloud!

And as I look at the purple hazy sunset,
I murmur your name
and I Cry!

Cry lavender tears for you!
Dream Lavender fields of you!
But I can’t name you aloud!
No!

As I stroll the lavender gardens
and Provencal cities of my I mind,
I will not name you aloud!
