suicide (ii)

The arrogance is skepticism is strong

and yet so is the beat of this song

whispering silent she swears they will not feel

the pain that drips from a cut

two more and the slit is real

just to feelโ€ฆ

About Michael Medlen

My name is Michael and during my free time I avoid having a day job. Strangely enough, this gives me the freedom to run this blog. I write just about anything that can be considered art. I also occasionally post articles that may or may not be relevant to the theme of this site. Youโ€™ve been warned.

  3. Makes sense. 2 icon musicians and the world itself feeling the sorrow that sinks into us on every day basis. I feel this sorrow and struggle within.

  4. I hope we all can find our release thru our writings. I apologize for not getting to read more of yours. It can be difficult sometimes to keep up with my favorites on this site.

  5. Writing is the medicine and cure to our sorrows.

I know exactly what you mean. I too, have my favorites, but recently I had to unfollow quite a lot of people. I was getting anxiety and stress. So, now I’m following 109 people. Which isn’t bad comparing to 190. Now, I have my selective favorites who I will dedicate myself to them only. Obviously, your my favorites on that list of mine as well. ๐Ÿ™‚ You are an amazing and talented writer. ๐Ÿ™‚

  6. Thanks. I really enjoy your works as well among others. You have a gift for the vernacular that I quite envy to be honest.

  8. I’ve read naked lunch and studied the beat poets briefly in college. Lately I’ve been stuck with Emily Dickinson however.

  9. Don’t envy me. Watch this video by Burroughs. If you do find this informative. Then I would like for us one day to collaborate on a weird cut up experimentation.

  12. I’ve heard about this technique. I read the singer from Radiohead uses this with his own lyrics. I’ve never tried it but it seems like something fun to get into. I’m always looking to expand my own horizons.

  13. I use this technique a lot in my writing. Why do you think you read it as weird. I never stop using this cut up method. It helps expand to the unknown futures of our consciousness.

  14. I would be interested in trying it out. I like a lot of abstraction to be honest. Poetry to me seems to be stuck in one voice at least in the professional circles. I like the idea of breaking thru the mold so to speak.

  15. They say when you collaborate, you open up the third mind who plays into the writing process.

  16. I love the opening the third mind but have never explored it in poetry. Now you have piqued my interest further.
