Waiting for Godot

Blah blah blah

Said the squirrel to the ant

I feel the need

To go on a rant

Why’s that

Mr. Squirrelly?

Don’t you see

That nature is all we need?

That’s the fucking point

Said the squirrel sharply back

I’m tired of having to work

And fight just for a snack

Ah but Mr. Squirelly

Isn’t it clear

God will provide

And you will be here

He will let the nut fall

Allow your teeth to chew

And then you will know

Why he has put you through

Ah that’s bullshit

Said the squirrel again

I’m tired of having to wait

I want God here and then

Instead he is absent

I feel he has abandoned me

So I will not wait

But will pout patiently

Ah but Mr. Squirelly

The truth is in the fold

You thought you could win

When in self-survial mode

Blah blah blah

Said the squirrel for the second time

I need him now

Or else I will whine

So go on and whine

And lament if you can

Because that pleases God

And I assure he’s your friend

The squirrel jumped from the tree

Into a pile of leaves

Content to have nothing

But company of misery

And that is why we wait

Because God does not care

But when he provides

He will surely be there

About Michael Medlen

My name is Michael and during my free time I avoid having a day job. Strangely enough, this gives me the freedom to run this blog. I write just about anything that can be considered art. I also occasionally post articles that may or may not be relevant to the theme of this site. You’ve been warned.
