They tore the Kroger down on the East Side

They tore down the Kroger on the East Side

Can you believe it

Just a short walk to break a loop

Now I’m stuck without a restroom

The tore down the Kroger on the East Side

Can you believe it

Just history in a tin can called a grocery store

Now I’m on the wrong side

And can you believe it

That they actually tore down the Kroger on the East Side

My job was there

A bagger and slacker for 5 an hour

And yes I can believe it

Because they tore down that Kroger on the East Side

Now there’s a gas station

And a wound that won’t heal

And yes

They really tore down that Kroger on the East Side

And we better believe it

Because that’s the America I see now

My name is Michael and during my free time I avoid having a day job. Strangely enough, this gives me the freedom to run this blog. I write just about anything that can be considered art. I also occasionally post articles that may or may not be relevant to the theme of this site. You’ve been warned.
